Frizzles was recommended to me after moving to the area and not being able to find a stylist that suited me. When I first walked up, I met a stylist outside taking a quick photo and thought, "I hope that's who I get!" Low and behold, Ruby walked in and introduced herself shortly thereafter, and I met my perfect hairstylist.
I'm not normally a person to write reviews but Betty did such an amazing job fixing my hair!! I came in because another salon I went to turned my hair into a bleach blonde with brass in the center!! But Betty took her time fixing the color and even fixed the cut! I'm so thankful!! And the inside is very upbeat and the staff is very friendly 🙂 they don't take tips on card but they have an ATM right next to the counter
I have difficult hair to say the least, Joy went right to work on my damaged hair and did a creative job! Beautiful. I'll be back!
I found Frizzles on Yelp! and have worked with both Ruby and Josselyn who both do fashion color. My hair is naturally DARK brown and if you know anything about fashion color, you understand it is a process! I had never colored my hair before so I was happy that within my 3 visits (1 Ruby, 2 Josselyn), each visit was better than the last! It has been such a fun journey and I couldn't be happier with the results!
This was my first experience at Frizzles and needless to say I was very impressed. Julia was my stylist and she did an outstanding job. Its a very busy place, but customer service is great. My only complaint is I wish I would've known that tips are cash only!!
I took both my girls to have their hair cut. My youngest is 3, and has hearing issues, we had the best hair cut and experience for her with Frizzle. In fact, she is asking to get her hair cut again. My nervous 6 year old loved the staff and cut, and even felt comfortable to get her hair washed, which is a first. We could not be happier.
I moved from NY to Alexandria last year and didn't think I'd find a comparable salon here. Frizzles is in my neighborhood and whenever I passed it, it was busy and full of interesting, stylish men and women...so I decided to give it a try. I'm so pleased that I did.

Great first time experience! I saw Betty, who layered my too-heavy shag cut into a lighter cooler shag for summer -- her cut is perfect for my hair texture, and just like the photos I took with me. I was so apprehensive about changing salons and stylists. Now I wonder why I waited so long! A friend who sees Vincent and has been happy for years recommended the salon to me, and I'm so happy!
